Hello

I find inspiration from the things I see around me, from atmospheric seascapes to sunlit buildings to create a "frozen moment in time". I look at normalcy of everyday places, finding beauty and meaning in the mundane, highlighting intricate details and textures that are often overlooked.

I find I am drawn to window reflections, to the way light falls on the unexpected shadows on a brick wall or peeling paint. Whilst my paintings and drawings are rendered with photographic realism, my true aim is not to replicate a photograph perfectly, but to use the source image as  a starting point to create something new and unique. After carefully drawing out the image, sometimes removing or blending objects and moving pieces around, the oil paint is laid down in multiple thin layers which gives the feeling of realism and allows my signature style to evolve naturally.

There are no hidden meanings or messages hidden within, just a sense of place.
